NOAH'S ARK NATURAL ANIMAL SHELTER

The passionate mission of Noah's Ark is to help bring about a time when there are less homeless animals on our streets. Thousands of cats and dogs are being destroyed every year. We can't be hiding behind the word 'Mercy Killing'. No shelter is big enough to accommodate all of them in a humane way.

We can't warehouse them either. They are sentient beings not items. We need an emotional commitment to a vision and to the people who can be involved in the realization of that dream.

The real secret of success is 'Enthusiasm'.

Our Story

Noah’s Ark was founded in 1995 by Raymund Wee in Singapore.  In 2000, the sanctuary, including all its inhabitants, moved to a 10-acre site in Johor, Malaysia.  This free roaming and NO KILL SANCTUARY is now home to 700 dogs, 300 cats, 10 horses, 3 primates, a wild boar and many other rescued animals.

Our Mission

To give abused, abandoned or homeless animals a second chance by providing food, water, shelter and medical attention when needed for them to live out the rest of their lives with dignity.

To advocate sterilisation to reduce the stray population and the birth of unwanted litters.

To educate the public on the importance of animal welfare and how to be responsible caregivers.

NANAS is a non-profit and non-government organisation.

Sanctuary Operations

Our operation is solely funded by donations from the public.  The biggest cost is food.  Funds are also needed for palliative care and special diets for terminally ill animals, medical supplies, veterinary services, salary, rental, power generation, sundry items for daily operations and maintenance costs for the upkeep of the sanctuary.

Animal Rescue Work

We receive dozens of requests every month to help abandoned, abused or injured animals in Singapore and Malaysia.  These animals require immediate medical attention and nursing care.  Due to their injuries, many have to remain and become permanent residents at the sanctuary.  Every rescued animal increases our costs.

Animal Birth Control (ABC)

We believe that sterilisation is the only humane solution to reduce the stray dog and cat population.  The ABC Clinic was set up to encourage pet owners to sterilise their pets, at subsidised rates, who would otherwise not do so due to their financial circumstances.

Trap Neuter Return Manage (TNRM)

NANAS has teamed up with volunteer groups who conduct TNRM programmes for stray dogs and cats.  More than 500 animals are sterilised monthly.  In most cases, fees are reduced or waived for special projects to help volunteers and caregivers continue their work.
